Book your annual service

Why book a Glow-worm annual boiler service?

By booking a boiler service with Glow-worm, you will benefit from a rigorous 12-point check on your boiler by an expert, in-house factory trained engineer. Who better to look after your boiler than the people who made it?

Having your boiler serviced once a year by a Gas Safe registered engineer ensures that you:

  • maintain your guarantee after the first year.
  • avoid future repair when problems are spotted early.
  • save energy as our engineer will check your boiler is running efficiently.
  • increase its life expectancy.

Most importantly, an annual service ensures that your boiler is safe.

Make sure you arrange for regular servicing as carbon monoxide leaks may be fatal.

To maximise performance and reliability, it's important to keep your boiler and heating system well maintained.

What’s involved in a boiler service?

When you book a boiler service with one of our expert engineers, your boiler will receive a comprehensive set of checks to ensure that it is operating correctly and safely:

1 - The engineer will inspect your boiler, looking for any leaks or corrosion.

2 - They will then assess the colour of your boiler’s pilot light to ensure that it is burning fuel properly (fuel that is not fully burnt can be a safety risk).

3 - Next, the internal parts of the boiler will be checked and cleaned thoroughly, including vital components such as the spark probe, main injector, heat exchanger, burner, and safety devices.

4 - Your engineer will inspect the flue terminals. This is an important safety measure to ensure that the terminals are not blocked and that they have been sealed correctly.

5 - The water and gas pipework will be checked carefully for wear and tear.

6 - The engineer will investigate your gas pressure and flow settings. If these are not at the right level, they will be adjusted.

7 - Finally, they will switch on your boiler, checking that it is operating correctly and that the temperature controls are working properly.

Once the engineer has finished the boiler service, they will give you a boiler service report containing details and confirmation of all of these checks. Feel free to ask them questions if there are any parts of the report that you’re not sure about.

As well as providing the checks and the report, an annual Glow-worm boiler service will also ensure that your guarantee remains valid if you are still in your guarantee period.
