Where can I find my serial number?
A serial number consists of 28 characters, starting with the number 21 and ending with the letter ‘N’ followed by a single other number.
Where to find your serial number on your boiler – you will usually find the serial number underneath your boiler or on the control panel.
The serial number for your heating appliance should also be included in your benchmark logbook.
Can we fix any Glow-worm boiler?
We are able to repair any domestic Glow-worm boiler unless it is uneconomical to do so. If this is the case, we will advise you on a suitable replacement boiler for your home and you will only be charged £99 for the engineer’s time.
When you book your appointment, you’ll need to provide the boiler type and serial number of your appliance. Your chosen engineer will be an expert in boiler repair for this type of appliance.
Is my boiler too old to be protected?
You can take out a plan for any boiler less than eight years old.
Once you have entered into a maintenance plan, this will renew automatically year after year with no cap on the appliance age.
How do I know what kind of boiler I have?
Combination boilers are the most common type of boiler in the UK, supplying both central heating and hot water on demand without the need for an external hot water cylinder.
System boilers provide central heating and hot water via a hot water cylinder, they are usually found in larger homes with multiple bathrooms.
Regular boilers require provide central heating and hot water via the boiler, a storage cylinder and a water tank, they are often found in homes with older radiator systems.

How often should I have my boiler serviced?
It’s important to have your boiler serviced once a year. An annual boiler service is a requirement to maintain your Glow-worm guarantee after the first year. It will also ensure that your boiler is functioning correctly and not leaking carbon monoxide, which can be fatal.
An annual boiler service will extend the lifespan of your boiler, too. With regular checks and maintenance from an approved engineer, Glow-worm boilers can continue to heat your home for as long as 10-15 years from the point of installation.
What does my guarantee cover?
Your Glow-worm guarantee covers you for the repair of any defects related to the manufacture of your Glow-worm appliance. The repair has to be completed by one of our Vaillant Service Engineers* and will cover both parts and labour. Find out more here
